Quoting milling usually forces you to program before you sell: someone opens the CAM, sketches a strategy and gives an hour count. Here the calculation runs on geometry and your tool catalogue: roughing and finishing with their feeds and depths of cut, drills and threads counted one by one, tool changes, workholding and setup time spread across the batch. Add stock material and machine depreciation, and you get a price you can defend.

What the calculation takes into account

Time per tool and operation

Every end mill, drill and tap with its feed, depth of cut and number of passes. Time is summed, not guessed.

Stock material and waste

The cost of the billet or plate you start from, with its waste, appears as its own line.

Setup spread across the batch

Setup and workholding time is divided among the parts in the order, which is why 1 part and 50 parts are not the same per unit.

How the price is calculated

AI reads the drawing. Mathematics sets the price.

We use artificial intelligence to understand what you give us: a hand sketch, a photo of the part, a PDF drawing. To calculate the price we never use AI. Cost comes from a deterministic engine using the real geometry and physics of your shop: cut length measured along the contour, your machine's feed rates and accelerations, lead-ins and pierces, real nesting yield, gases, consumables, hourly cost, bending and finishing.

What that means in practice: the same drawing always returns the same price, you can show a customer where every euro comes from, and nothing is ever made up. With machines and materials properly configured, deviation from real shop cost stays under 1%.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to program the CAM to quote?

No. That is the point: the quote comes from geometry and your shop parameters, and the CAM is only touched once the order is won.

Does it cover 3-axis and multi-face parts?

Yes. Operations are declared per face and per setup, and each new setup adds its preparation time.

Can I mix laser cutting and machining in one quote?

Yes. That is the normal case for parts that are cut, bent and then machined: each line uses its own engine and the PDF comes out unified.
